Chris Lehman's Presentation at NECC last year
Description
Take the best of progressive pedagogy, great institutional partnerships, lots of money, and a brilliant, fearless leader with a vision...and you get a school like SLA. Critics say it's not replicable - and for public schools, probably so...but that's what Richard Mills said before he closed all the alternative schools in NYC. That's a wrong thing to say. The right thing to say is, "what can we learn from this that can be adopted on a scale that fits our context"? If something works, the things to be learned are legion.- Login to post comments
