Students! Lets Support Drupal In Our Schools - here.
At DrupalCon SF, a crew of ghetto kids (and their mentors) presented about how teenagers have all the right stuff (with some help) to create and support Drupal sites for schools and community based organizations.
I have made community websites and labs (and started my web development company) with students throug Tech Scouts so I know this works, done right. View the presentation: Open Source Opens Doors for Youth
Drupal-Savvy Teens: We want our schools to use Drupal as a learning platform so we can connect from the classroom to homes and beyond, don't we? Well, our schools will need a lot of help to do that, and we will need a place to connect and help each other.
I've asked G.D.O to approve a "K-12 Schools" group, because the relevant infomation for K-12 schools is all over the place. I haven't heard back yet.
Perhaps DrupalSchools.net is the right place to build a community of tech-savvy students willing to support schools that use Drupal?
I'm going to "beef up" the social networking aspects of this site in the next week as a demonstration of how to build a social network site with Drupal. If you are a Drupal-savvy student you want to be a part of that effort, please create an account!
